About Us

We are a multidisciplinary team comprising of seven vets, three registered veterinary nurses and eight support staff.

Kieran O’Mahony MVB arrived in Tipperary in 1998 to join Ireland’s oldest veterinary practice.

It all began in 1904 when Alan Baker, the first graduate of what was a new veterinary degree course in Trinity College, came home to Lismacue House, Bansha, and began providing a veterinary service to the area. The practice was subsequently taken over by his son, William. As time went on, the business moved to Main Street, Bansha, and from there to Blind Street, Tipperary, where it operated for almost thirty years.

On the 10th September 2018, Kieran O’Mahony opened the doors of our new, purpose-built Veterinary Hospital on the Bansha Road. Our new home provides us with the space and facilities to continue to grow and provide the excellent service our customers have come to expect.

OUR DESIGN

The new premises at Bansha Road gave us an amazing opportunity to design an ideal environment to treat small animals. We have put a lot of thought into creating a space where animals feel safe, owners feel comfortable, and we can provide the highest standard of veterinary care to your pets. We hope that you will notice all the small touches we have put across our practice to help you feel secure in knowing that your animal is in the care of the right people for the job.

We have a special place to place your cats in the waiting area called the "CAT COMFORT ZONE” so that both cats and dogs can be comfortable in their own space. We have a dedicated CAT CONSULT ROOM and DOG CONSULT ROOM where the smells and environment are set up to best suit your pet.

Our FAMILY ROOM is a dedicated space designed for families who are going to have their pet put down. It is a comfortable space where families can spend time with their pet before and have a private space afterwards. There is a separate entrance which also provides some additional privacy during the end of life process. The aim is to support your family in the best way we can through this.

Our GROOMING AREA is designed to be tucked away from the rest of the clinic with a nice spacious room so that you pet has the freedom to roam the space and settle themselves before they get groomed. We want your pet to be happy coming to the practice so we have tried to make each space as pet friendly as possible.
